Sharanu Sharanarthi!

Welcome to the web page of “Shivasharanara Vachana Samputa” - a unique web application on the Vachana Literature of 12th century A.D. in Karnataka (the Kannada speaking State in the Southern part of India). The great socio-religious leader of that time was Basavanna who fought against social inequalities, caste system and advocated religious freedom. The present version consists of his thoughts called Vachanas and also of his contemporaries namely, Akkamahadevi, Allamaprabhu, Siddharama and Channabasavanna in the original Kannada script with Roman transliteration. Our web application has also Search and Sort capabilities. All together, there are  22,000 Vachanas of all the Shivasharanas.
